Support Arts & Sciences on Giving Day March 16

The College of Arts & Sciences is preparing for this year’s Giving Day, Thursday, March 16 — a day to show your support for our faculty and students. We hope you’ll join in the fun!

Last year, A&S alumni, parents, students, and friends joined together to raise more than $1.29 million for the College of Arts & Sciences on Giving Day.

Your gift allows the College to fulfill its mission so that our students can do the greatest good in the world and contribute to our society in meaningful and lasting ways.

Thanks to the generosity of our alumni, parents and friends, the College of Arts & Sciences Annual Fund helps us recruit and retain faculty as they pursue frontline research and mentor our undergraduates. It also helps us expand our support for first-generation students and increase student opportunities for advising, research and career experiences.

Your gift to the Cornell Promise Annual Fund Scholarships for Arts & Sciences allows us to offer critically important support to more than 2,000 students each year and helps us meet the financial aid commitment we make to our increasingly diverse student body.

You can also support your favorite department or program on Giving Day. Whether your interest lies in the arts & humanities, social sciences or physical & natural sciences, you can help our departments prepare students to become innovators, entrepreneurs and civic leaders.

And, thanks to several A&S alumni, your gift to the College can have an even greater impact:

  • Alex ’87 and Laura ’87 Hanson have pledged to match the first $192,500 in gifts to the College of Arts & Sciences Annual Fund.
  • Kimberly (Check) Anast ’01 has pledged to match the first $25,000 in gifts to the Cornell Promise Annual Fund Scholarships for Arts & Sciences,
  • Dale S. Rosenthal ’78 has offered an additional challenge for students and young alumni.
  • A&S alumnae Mary Armstrong Meduski ’80, Sharlyn Heslam ’91, and Peggy Koenig ’78 (CALS) joined to give $250,000 to support undergraduate scholarships, financial aid, and the student experience via the Cornell Women’s Leadership Challenge.

Take a look at all of the challenges taking place throughout the day to find out how your gift could be the one to unlock additional Giving Day Challenge funds.

On Thursday, March 16, join the Cornell community to make a difference for students on Cornell Giving Day.
