Yusheng Luo

Assistant Professor, Mathematics

Academic focus:

My research is in dynamics and geometry especially the dynamics of rational maps on the Riemann sphere, the corresponding moduli space, and its interplays with Kleinian groups, hyperbolic geometry, Teichmuller theory and Berkovich dynamics.

Current research project:

I am currently working on several projects to understand the connections between rational maps, Kleinian groups and circle packings.

In your own time/when not working:

I enjoy cooking, playing table tennis and hiking.

Courses you’re most looking forward to teaching:

I am excited to teach any courses in dynamical systems, as well as introductory math classes for undergraduates. I am looking forward to teaching a course in differential equations and dynamical system this fall.

What most excites you about Cornell:

The intellectually stimulating academic atmosphere, brilliant colleagues and motivated students. I am really excited to get to know the awesome and diverse community at Cornell
