What are the most valuable skills you gained from your Arts & Sciences education?

I am so thankful for my Arts & Sciences education. Arts & Sciences forced me to take courses that I might not have necessarily taken. For example, the language requirement is daunting for many students, and language courses are very challenging. However, I am so proud that I was able to learn Arabic!

What is your main extracurricular activity--why is it important to you?

I am very involved in a student-run organization named Les Femmes de Substance, a professional development organization geared towards women of color on Cornell's campus. I have been involved in so many student organizations during my time at Cornell. However, this activity is most important to me because I am able to see the direct impact that this organization has on the Cornell community. For example, every other week, Les Femmes de Substance hosts a themed, hour-long event where we serve free lunch and discuss topics surrounding professionalism. I have been able to meet and network with so many women of color on Cornell's campus, and provide individuals with meaningful information regarding things such as goal planning, internship searching, and resume development.

How have you changed since you first arrived at Cornell? What have you discovered about yourself?

I have changed so much since I first arrived at Cornell. I have gained a greater idea about what I am passionate about, and have learned to truly value the resources and opportunities that Cornell has made available to me. I am much more open to trying new experiences, meeting new people, and stepping outside of my comfort zone.
