Cornell faculty members and academic staff participating in the Knowledge Matters Fellowship presented their projects, including comics, videos and websites, at a showcase wrapping up the yearlong transmedia training program May 10 at A.D. White House.
Erin York Cornwell has been awarded the 2019 Robert and Helen Appel Fellowship for Humanists and Social Scientists, and Ananda Cohen-Aponte and Khena Swallow have been awarded the 2019 Robert A. and Donna B. Paul Academic Advising Award. They were among the Arts & Sciences faculty honored at a May 25 trustee-faculty dinner recognizing university-wide teaching and advising.
Chemistry major Cathy Ly ‘19 is spending her summer in Ithaca doing research at Cornell, thanks to the J. Emory Morris Fellowship she received from the chemistry department. “I love doing hands-on work,” said Ly, “and being able to make invisible things tangible, to discover what isn’t immediately apparent to human eyes.” She’s interested in chemistry’s applications to astronomy and material science.
College of Arts and Sciences faculty member Sarah Murray received the Robert and Helen Appel Fellowship for Humanists and Social Scientists, and Linda Nicholson received the Robert A. and Donna B. Paul Academic Advising Award in the College of Arts and Sciences at a May 28 trustee-faculty dinner which recognized universitywide teaching and advising and newly tenured faculty.
Doctoral candidate Emiko Stock is one of 21 students to be named a Charlotte W. Newcombe Doctoral Dissertation Fellow for 2017 by the Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation.
