U.S. in the world, military and diplomatic history, international history, and the intertwined histories of race, gender, labor and empire
Current research project:
My first book is a history of the U.S. Army’s management of sexual violence in Europe during World War II. I am currently working on a collaborative project on the Global Second World War and am writing a book about the militarization of Alaska in the long 20th century.

I’ve been powerlifting for many years now, but love the outdoors, too, and enjoy rowing, kayaking, hiking and running. I like to travel and to read, and I go to the ballet when I can.

Cornell is famous for the teaching of American foreign relations history so it is a pleasure and a privilege to be able to join the department and contribute to this long-standing tradition.
