What was your favorite class and why?
I would say my intermediate Arabic class this semester has to be my favorite class. Not only do we get to learn a language, but we also get to experience the culture in a meaningful and fun way.
What Cornell memory do you treasure the most?
I would say the "Rousseau activity" in my French Revolution class with Professor Paul Friedland. All 65 of us had to come to an absolute majority decision on whether we would skip a homework assignment or not. Even after "exiling" five students from the lecture hall we still had to write our discussion post for the next Tuesday.
What have you accomplished as a Cornell student that you are most proud of?
My year abroad at the University of Oxford was transformative. Being able to experience a completely different education system was definitely a highlight in my life.
Who or what influenced your Cornell education the most?
My introduction to political philosophy class with Professor Jason Frank introduced me to fundamental texts in western civilization like Machiavelli, Sophocles, Hobbes and Plato. These books opened new ways for me to think and explore new ideas.
Every year, our faculty nominate graduating Arts & Sciences students to be featured as part of our Extraordinary Journeys series. Read more about the Class of 2026.
