Research Focus

I hold degrees in electrical engineering and in computer science and am interested in all aspects of mind, brain, behavior, and the human condition. At Cornell, I work on behavioral, neural, evolutionary, and computational aspects of language, vision, consciousness, and happiness. My books include "Computing the Mind” (2008), "The Happiness of Pursuit” (2012), and, most recently, “Beginnings” (2014), a psychological-philosophical science fiction (psy-phi sci-fi) anabasis.
