Overview
Sarah Thompson is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Government. She studies traditional governance and gender, with a regional focus on South Asia and a country focus on Pakistan. She is methodologically interested in how field experiments can improve our understanding of women’s distinct forms of political engagement and of modern usages of non-state justice.
Sarah was a Postdoctoral Fellow with the Social Scientists' Association and the Global Forum for Democracy and Development, based in Colombo, Sri Lanka (2024-25). She received her PhD in Political Science from Stanford University in 2024.
