Overview
Professor Kosch received her Ph.D. from Columbia University in 1999. She held a postdoctoral fellowship at the Søren Kierkegaard research Center in Copenhagen and a faculty appointment at the University of Michigan before joining the Sage School in 2006. Her areas of interest include Kant, nineteenth and twentieth century continental philosophy (especially the German idealists, Kierkegaard, and Marx), ethics, moral psychology, and political philosophy. Recent publications include: Freedom and Reason in Kant, Schelling, and Kierkegaard (Oxford University Press 2006), “‘Despair’ in Kierkegaard's Either/Or” (Journal of the History of Philosophy, 2006), Kierkegaard’s Ethicist: Fichte’s Role in Kierkegaard’s Construction of the Ethical Standpoint” (Archiv für Geschichte der Philosophie, 2006). She is currently at work on a project on Fichte’s ethics.
