Overview
Following a 30-year strategy consulting career, John has been advising a series of minority- and women-owned boutique firms in the Washington, DC area as a practice leader and practitioner in organizational, operations, and systems effectiveness, primarily in the financial and nonprofit sectors. Previously, John was a senior partner with Oliver Wyman where he ran the Digital practice globally and with Booz Allen, where he led the firm's European & Middle East information systems business, serving on boths firms' Management Committees.
At the same time, John is advising Equity Schools, an innovative B-corporation working nationally to solve capital and funding problems for charter, independent and public schools. John maintains his commitment to non-profit volunteer work and leadership as a Board member of St. Philip's Child Development Center, the Smithsonian's Center for Folklife & Cultural Heritage and Smithsonian Folkways Recordings, and emeritus Board member of Higher Achievement and the National Portrait Gallery, in addition to Cornell.
John was an alumni-elected Trustee from 2018-2022 and is an outgoing member of the eCornell Advisory Board. He previously served two terms on the Cornell Alumni Advisory Board and chaired the Cornell Alumni Trustee Nominating Committee.
John and his wife, Carol, live in Washington, DC. They have three grown children, Audrey ’13, Alissa, and Oscar ’19
