Overview
Dorothy represents US and non-US investment advisers, wealth management platforms and family offices in the structuring, formation and operation of alternative investments products, domestically and on a cross-border basis, including hedge, private equity and hybrid funds, funds of funds, rated note feeders, collective investment trusts and commodity pools), and the establishment of separately managed account arrangements (SMAs).
Dorothy is consistently recognized for her expertise in investment funds by her clients, earning her the annual distinction of being named a "Stand-out Lawyer" by Thomson Reuters. She was also included in New York’s Best Lawyers 2024 for Private Funds/Hedge Funds Law. Her leadership in the field is further underscored by her annual rankings in Chambers USA and Chambers Global in Hedge Funds and her recognition as a "Next Generation Partner" by Legal 500 US in Alternative/ Hedge Funds and a "Highly Regarded" lawyer in Investment Funds and “Women Leader” by IFLR 1000.
Dorothy is a Member of the Cornell Arts & Sciences Advisory Council and a Team Leader and Member of Cornell University Arts & Sciences Career Connections Committee (ASCCC). Dorothy also sits on the Board of Rising Ground, a human services organization supporting youth and families in New York City. Dorothy lives in New York City and Spring Lake, NJ, with her husband, Ariz Mehta (Cornell A&S ’99), and their daughter, Eliana.
