Brisa Núñez García

Overview

Brisa Núñez García received her B.A. in applied linguistics at the Universidad Mayor de San Simon in Cochabamba, Bolivia. She also holds an M.A. in Spanish from the University of New Mexico and an M.Sc. in Hispanic studies from Georgetown University. She completed her Ph.D. in Spanish literature and cultural studies at Georgetown University. Nunez Garcia’s area of expertise is Latin America 20th - 21st century, Southern Cone. Her research examines alternative communities in Hispanic literature and culture, with an emphasis in subaltern studies and post-dictatorship testimonial literature. As an educator, she has a high commitment to work with diversity, equity and inclusion. Before attending to Cornell University, Núñez García has taught at Wells College, Hamilton College, Georgetown University, and the University of New Mexico.
