Overview
Melissa Lewin is a Partner and the Chief Operating Officer at Fixed Point Advisors, LP. Prior to joining Fixed Point in January 2026, Melissa served as a Managing Director and General Counsel at Paloma Partners Management Company where she oversaw the Legal, Compliance, HR and Tax functions. Preceding her time at Paloma, she spent over 13 years at Two Sigma where she served as a Managing Director in the legal department as the Associate General Counsel as well as in the Human Resources department.
Melissa started her career as a tax attorney at Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler LLP and at Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP. Melissa received a BA in Near Eastern Studies and Archaeology from Cornell University, a JD from Yale Law School, and an LLM in Taxation from NYU School of Law. In addition to her volunteer work for Cornell, Melissa is a member of the Board of Directors for Read Ahead, a reading-based mentoring program from elementary students in New York City.
For Cornell, Melissa serves on the A&S Advisory Council, is currently the Chair of the President’s Council for Cornell Women where she previously held a number of other leadership roles, including Chair of the Engagement Committee and Vice-Chair of PCCW, is a current member of the Cornell University Council, is the Chair of the Arts and Sciences Career Connections Committee, Law Team, and she is also a judge at Cornell Law School’s annual Transactional Lawyering Competition.
