Overview
Ian Lundberg is an assistant professor of information science. His research develops statistical and machine learning methods to answer questions about inequality in America. Substantively, his interests focus on inequality, poverty, and economic mobility. Methodologically, Ian's work answers these questions by developing tools at the intersection of computational social science and causal inference. Ian received a PhD in sociology and social policy from Princeton University.
Research Focus
I study topics in stratification and inequality. I strive to produce substantive findings that are conceptually precise and which rely on credible assumptions. These principles often lead me to computational and machine learning methods and the development of new approaches.
