Project Title: Investigation into the players and operations of the art market.

Project Description: My project examines the various parts and processes that work
together to construct the art market. By viewing art as an investment, I aim to learn how
artworks can thrive in a capitalist system and how entities in the U.S. can take
advantage of this privatized, unregulated sector. The allure of art is universal, so I want
to understand how art can hold various forms of value- aesthetic, cultural, historic,
monetary, economic, personal, etc. Looking to the future, I will analyze how art can
evolve to alternate currency systems like NFTs. In the end, I believe that the art world is
a social and economic network that can be dissected and better understood when
examined through an interdisciplinary approach. Therefore, I will examine art through
the lens of art history, anthropology, history, sociology, psychology, economics, and
more.

Most Important Accomplishment: I’m still looking for and working towards my most
important accomplishments in life!

Reflections on College Scholars Program: I am very grateful for the community, freedom, guidance, and opportunities that I have gained through the College Scholar Program. I feel
encouraged to chase after all my curiosities and simply learn through the challenges
and failures of research.
