Overview
For Singh, teaching Hindi is rooted in family tradition. She would sit with her father in her childhood as he taught Hindi to students from around the world. He was beloved by his students who became my friends and part of our family. Teaching and learning Hindi were subjects that brought them joy, purpose, and provided a bond. In 1999, she began teaching under her father's guidance. Since then, she has taught individuals and groups in India and abroad, from single lessons to yearlong courses. Singh has taught post-high school exchange programs, classes at the University of Leipzig, Germany, and intensive courses for diplomats in the American Embassy and British High Commission in New Delhi. Teaching Hindi still brings her joy, and now it is an honor for her to continue her family tradition at Cornell.
