Sahoko Ichikawa

Senior Lecturer

Overview

Ms. Ichikawa received her MA in Linguistics in 2003 from Indiana University, and her BA in Japanese music from Tokyo University of Fine Arts and Music. She served as a Japanese language instructor at Bradley University as well as at Cornell prior to pursuing her MA. Ms. Ichikawa's formal education, cultural background, and prior teaching experience, combined with knowledge of other Asian languages allows her to contribute in a unique way to the Japanese and Chinese language programs.

Her other passion in life is traditional music; she plays Japanese bamboo flute (Shakuhachi) and Japanese zither; her next challenge is to learn the Chinese zither.
