Emily Epperson

Overview

Emily Epperson earned her PhD in 2023 from Harvard University’s Department of Romance Languages and Literatures with a Certificate in Teaching Language and Culture from Harvard’s Bok Center for Teaching and Learning. At Harvard she taught French classes at all levels, including courses on current events and media in the Francophone world, French Renaissance literature, and contemporary Paris. Previous teaching experiences also include work in a high school in eastern France and at Carleton College. As a Pedagogy Fellow at Harvard’s Bok Center, Emily led pedagogy trainings and seminars for graduate TAs. 

During her PhD and as an undergraduate at Carleton College, Emily studied and conducted research in Paris and Avignon. Her research interests include sixteenth- and seventeenth-century French literature and race, religion, and identity in the early modern period. She is also interested in language acquisition and pedagogy.
