Overview

Amanda Weiss is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Government. She studies the conditions under which we can make valid inferences about causal effects, in both observational and experimental settings. Her work focuses on difference-in-differences, survey experimental methodology, and research ethics. Substantively, she is interested in American public policy effects and attitudes.

She completed her PhD in political science at Yale University in 2025. She also received a MA in statistics from Yale. Prior to that, she co-founded and ran a nonprofit organization and received an MSW from Columbia University.
