Overview

Elio Nimier-David is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Economics and the School of Industrial and Labor Relations at Cornell University.

His research lies at the intersection of Labor Economics, Firm Dynamics, and Spatial Economics, with a strong interest in the factors that promote firm creation, firm growth, and local economic activity. His work combines quasi-experimental designs with large-scale administrative data to identify the effects of major education and labor market policies on firms, individuals, and cities.

Elio Nimier-David is also a member of the Global Repository of Income Dynamics (GRID) project, which brings together more than 50 researchers from around the world working on earnings inequality, mobility, and income risk.

Elio Nimier-David holds a BA in Social Sciences from the Ecole Normale Supérieure de Cachan and a Masters in Economics and Statistics from the Ecole Polytechnique and ENSAE Paris. He obtained a Ph.D in Economics from CREST in 2023 and was a postdoctoral research fellow at the Chicago Booth School of Business in 2023-24.
