Together, they offer a genuine student perspective on life at Cornell, connecting with prospective and incoming students through admissions events, student panels, social media, and email.

Name: Brianna Mendez '27 Hometown: Staten Island, NY Major: Government Minor: History Why A&S? I chose A&S because it allowed me the flexibility to explore interdisciplinary subjects within my classes. It’s also provided me a space to learn alongside students with different perspectives, backgrounds, and academic interests, which has shaped the way I engage outside of the classroom.
Name: Mitch Goldstein '27 Hometown: Greenwich, CT Majors: Economics, Government Minors: Business, Law & Society Why A&S? I chose the College of Arts & Sciences because I valued the opportunity to receive a well-rounded education while exploring a wide range of interests. The flexibility to take courses across different disciplines allows me to pursue my interests while continuing to explore new subjects and perspectives.
Name: Juliana Qiu '29 Hometown: Easton, CT Major: Government Minors: Law & Society, Public Policy Why A&S? Every discipline is, in some sense, an agreement about what not to look at. I seek to learn those blind spots, then breach them fruitfully: initiating questions ‘too philosophical’ for scientists and ‘too scientific’ for philosophers. A&S is one of the few places where that intersection is not contradictory, but precisely the point!
Name: Alex Chen '28 Hometown: Brooklyn, NY Majors: History, History of Art Minors: American Studies, East Asian Studies, European Studies Why A&S? Coming to A&S, I knew I wanted to major in History of Art and History, but I also hoped to explore a diverse range of subjects through the College’s distribution requirements. Many of those courses have since become some of my favorites!
Name: Jack Lindquist '28 Hometown: Los Angeles, CA Major: Economics Minors: Business, Data Science Why A&S? I chose A&S for the flexibility to further explore different subjects such as economics, statistics, and business. Being a student in A&S has allowed me to combine this coursework and make the Cornell experience truly feel like my own.
Name: Vera Tax '29 Hometown: Wheaton, IL Major: Biology & Society Minors: Environment and Sustainability, Urban and Regional Studies Why A&S? I chose A&S for the multidisciplinary academics at its core. Here in A&S we understand that current problems cannot be found or solved without the integration of manifold disciplines and viewpoints!

Looking for an opportunity to give back to the A&S community while sharing your Cornell experience with prospective students? Each fall, we welcome a new cohort of undergraduate A&S Ambassadors to our team. Working alongside the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, Ambassadors offer an authentic, firsthand perspective on life as an Arts & Sciences student and the admissions process.
We are pleased to announce that applications for the 2026-2027 cycle are now open! All materials must be submitted by 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, October 16, 2026 to be considered.
