New Career Development Center Director Named

Jennifer Maclaughlin has been named the new Assistant Dean and Director of Arts & Sciences Career Development. In her role, she will design and implement strategies to support the career development of A&S undergraduates at all stages in their education: as they engage in career planning, obtain experiential learning, consider and pursue graduate school options, and conduct job searches.

“I feel passionate about a liberal arts and sciences education and empowering students to utilize their degree in meeting their personal and professional goals,” says Maclaughlin.

The Arts & Sciences Career Development Center offers various career development tools and services to help liberal arts students define and pursue their goals. Advisers are available to meet with students from freshmen to seniors to discuss career exploration, job search strategy and communication with employers, including resume reviews and practice interviews. Career interest and skill assessment tools are available via group sessions and individual career counseling appointments.

Prior to beginning at Cornell, Maclaughlin spent six years as as the Director of Internships & Career Services at the University at Albany’s Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy. Prior to that, she worked as a Career Counselor at Pace University in New York City and at the University of Connecticut.
