Why did you choose Cornell?
I chose Cornell because of the breadth of possibilities it presented to me. I was entirely undecided in my mind, and I wanted to try out sociology, psychology, English, gender studies and art...I also wanted to learn Japanese. So, what better place to get all of that done than Cornell?
What is your main extracurricular activity--why is it important to you?
I devote the majority of my "free" time to Amit Bhatia Libe Cafe. The cafe has been incredible in providing a community of friends for me, especially as a freshman. This is my eighth and final semester at Libe, and my fourth semester as its student manager. I honestly couldn't imagine Cornell without all of the incredible connections and experiences and fun that working at Libe Cafe has brought me.
What do you value about your liberal arts education?
Not one student in Cornell's liberal arts education can say that they've had the same experience as another person. No one has all of the same classes, no one has all of the same grades and everyone has different backgrounds. It's beautiful, and it's such an honor to be able to actively experience so much difference while also understanding just how similar we all are.
