Classroom Technology Training for Faculty and TAs
You are here
Each University designated classroom has been outfitted with technology to facilitate the recording and streaming of your classes. This equipment will connect to your laptop, which you will need to bring, via USB-A. The equipment will include (in most but not all cases):
A combination external microphone and speaker called the Chat 170: https://www.clearone.com/chat%
An external camera called the Unite 20: https://www.clearone.com/
- A USB hub that both the Chat 170 and the Unite 20 plug into. The hub will, in turn, plug into your computer via USB-A plug. (NOTE: for those using recent model Macintosh computers, you will need a USB-A to USB-c adapter to use this hardware.)
Every instructor teaching on campus in a University designated classroom will also be provided a face shield and a lapel microphone (if you are teaching in a classroom with a built-in microphone system). Face shields can be obtained by contacting your local AV/IT support. Arts & Sciences instructors can contact Kevin Mathy at 607-255-3136 or email@example.com.
The College has procured two mini recording studios for you to pre-record your lectures or material. They are located in Uris G44 and Morrill 102. Please make a reservation on the following pages. Training for these spaces will be provided at the time of your appointment. The hours for these studios are 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and you must have an appointment with a two-hour lead time.
