Clare McMillan attended the College of Arts and Sciences as an undergraduate back in the rollicking ‘70s and then returned to earn an M.A. and Ph.D. in Germanic Studies. After a few years teaching at Cornell and elsewhere, she directed the Language House Program and then joined the Academic Advising Office as an advising dean. She lives in an old Victorian house with her husband, Karl Pillemer, a professor in human development. Together they enjoy hiking long-distance trails in the U.S. and abroad, training for half-marathons, watching the English Premier League (they are avid Arsenal fans), and keeping up with their two grown daughters.
