What is your main Cornell extracurricular activity -- why is it important to you?
I've participated in Vox: Voices for Planned Parenthood (Vox) and the Women's Resource Center (WRC) for most of my time at Cornell. They are two phenomenally open-minded, accepting and transformative spaces through which I have learned so much about social justice, the many angles of gender justice issues and community organizing. Vox and the WRC also became networks of support while at Cornell – through working with these groups of compassionate, curious and dedicated activists, I found some of my closest friends.
What, if any, research projects did you participate in at Cornell?
I wrote an honors thesis based on original research on contemporary drug marketing in commercial U.S. women's magazines.
What are your plans for next year; where do you see yourself in 10 years?
After graduation, I am moving to Mumbai, where I'm going to be working with anti-human trafficking advocates and community groups fighting for sex workers' rights and protection.
