Film/Design Careers: Production Design in the Entertainment Industry - Emmy Nominated Hollywood Art Director, Production Designer, and Imagineer: Arte Contreras. November 3, 4:45 pm, 261B Fine Arts Library, E. Sibley Hall
Arte Contreras has successfully worked in the entertainment design industry for over 20 years in television, film, theater, themed entertainment and theme park design. He was nominated for an Emmy Award with "Disney's Greatest Hits on Ice" and has helped design several theme parks for Paramount Studios and Warner Brothers in Asia and Dubai, production designing for "Creation" for the Crystal Cathedral, and art directing two awards shows. He is currently the production designer for the "50th Annual Los Angeles County Holiday Celebration." He also teaches future generations of designers at Chapman University's Dodge College of Film and Media Arts in Southern California. Mr. Contreras will talk about what is production design, his experience in the field, and introduce the Chapman University's graduate program.
