Popular Legal Fields
A law degree (J.D. or Juris Doctor) can lead to a wide range of law-related careers and can open doors to opportunities in government, business, higher education, communications, non-profit organizations, and other fields.
Many A&S students and graduates seek experience in law-related positions to test the waters before applying to law school. There are many resources available in A&S Career Services and Cornell Career Services to help students find summer and post-graduate law-related experiences.
For advice on preparing for law school and the law school admissions process, students are encouraged to review the A&S pre-law resource guide and consult with Assistant Dean and Pre-Law Advisor, Heather Struck (hcs47@cornell.edu).
