Information on Course Credits
Check these lists to make sure the classes you have scheduled will count towards your degree. The lists are updated each semester.
- Courses That Don't Count for a Degree
- Courses with Overlapping Content
If a student takes classes with overlapping content, only one of those classes can count towards a degree. - One and Two Credit Courses
- Transferring Credits form Other Institutions
If you are matriculated in Arts and Sciences, credit earned at other accredited collegiate institutions transfers upon the recommendation from the relevant Cornell department. - Summer Sessions
Summer session at Cornell or elsewhere does not count toward the eight-semester residence requirement. Students are permitted to earn up to 12 credits in one summer.
